Does Your Scalp Need to be Refreshed?

Scratch, Scratch, scratch……as I continue to scratch my hair I am noticing so many flakes falling before my eyes. It puts me in the mind of snowflakes falling straight from my scalp and landing right on my shirt.

Have you ever experienced that? Have you noticed chunks of white flakes around the hairline, periodically throughout your scalp, or extremely built up after taking out your protective style or locs take down? If you are experiencing this you are surely in need of a hair detox. A hair detox involves removing any buildup or impurities from the hair and scalp, and restoring the natural balance of the scalp.

Here are some common signs that may indicate that you need a hair detox include:

- Oily or greasy hair

- Dull or lifeless hair

- Itchy or flaky scalp

- Excessive hair shedding or hair loss

- Product buildup in the hair

- Scalp irritation or inflammation

How often do you detox your hair? Think of detoxing your hair just like we have to detox our bodies in order to see healthy weight loss results when working out. Sometime we have to remove what doesn't belong and build on a healthy foundation for the results we are looking for.

Here are some steps on how to do a hair detox at home:

1.Part  medium parts throughout the scalp and then apply the CBD Nairobi Scalp Treatment to your scalp.

 2. Secondly, clarify your hair with a gentle clarifying shampoo to remove any buildup of product, or heavy oils from the hair.

3. Rinse with warm water to open the cuticles and remove any remaining residue.

4. Hair mask or deep conditioner to the hair and let it sit for 10-15 mins with heat. This helps moisturize the hair and restore pH balance.

5. Be sure to massage your scalp with your fingertips while applying all steps to increase blood circulation and stimulate hair growth.

6. Rinse the hair mask/conditioner out with cool water. Seal in a liquid based/gel based  leave-in conditioner .

Your hair is now ready for general styling.

You are welcomed to apply this to your scalp once a month to maintain healthy and shiny hair and scalp. Additionally, be sure to avoid harsh chemicals and limit styling products to reduce the buildup of impurities on your hair and scalp. Usually clients tend to use heavy oils and greases to manage this problem but it can surely cause more buildup.

If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, feel free to grab a bottle of Nairobi Scalp Tonic. Sold in the salon store It works like magic, lol. Just kidding, but it definitely treats your scalp well and relieves the scalp after a shampoo. Take it a step further by booking a consultation with me. I look forward to helping you make your scalp and hair back healthy again.
